Boxing Competition!
Showtime - ShoBox
Match scheduled: 04-12-2010 from 04:00 until 06:30-GMT
At Santa Ynez, Calif. (Showtime):
Lateef Kayode vs. Ed Perry,
10 rounds, cruiserweights;
Luis Franco vs. Eric Hunter,
8 rounds, junior lightweights;
Kendall Holt vs. Octavio Narvaez,
8 rounds, welterweights;
Julian Williams vs. Mario Evangelista,
rounds, junior middleweights;
Rodrigo Aranda vs. Rufino Serrano,
6 rounds, featherweights;
Michael Anderson vs. Dashon Johnson,
6 rounds, welterweights;
Sergio Nunez vs. Ramon Flores,
4 rounds, featherweights
Kayode is a cruiserweight prospect who has cracked a lot of top 10 lists more on the strength of his name recognition and his Freddie Roach endorsement than the actual competition he's faced. Perry is a slight step back in competition, going 18-4 against mostly crummy competition, although he's never been knocked out. Former Cuban amateur Franco looked decent in his first TV exposure against Wilton Hilario. He'll take on Hunter, who has a 15-1 record and, on paper, looks like a decent challenge for someone in only his eighth pro fight.
